About us and our programme

Kia Ora, Talofa, Kia Orana. Welcome to Tairangi Kindergarten!

We have a large setting with up to 30 children and four teachers, enabling teachers to spend quality time with individuals or small groups of children.

Children aged two and over can attend up to five days a week, in a mixed age setting. This gives children valuable opportunities to learn from each other, and to learn to be leaders, through the tuakana/teina (older brother, older sister) concept.

Children are encouraged to play both inside and outside, trying new things and working on their areas of interest with minimal interruption. Children develop focus and concentration, set goals for themselves, and develop social skills and friendships in an environment of free play.

We welcome family involvement and encourage you to be a part of your child’s day. We welcome the chance to chat about your child - we love to find out about their life outside of kindergarten, which can help us as their teachers. We also welcome support on trips and with kindergarten events and celebrations.
