Last Thursday 13 representatives from kindergartens in the Ōhāriu electorate attended Finance Minister Nicola Willis’s Johnsonville office to hand over a petition calling for children to be at the centre of any changes to regulations in early childhood education.
Waitohi teacher Catherine Vaughan organised the event, and said it was important to have wide representation to make an impact. Nicola Willis was not present but has previously visited Waitohi Kindergarten. Her office staff have committed to passing on the message.
Last Friday, representatives from both Petone kindergartens visited Chris Bishop’s office to also handover petition sheets.
