Giveaway Day at Nuanua Kindergarten
Last weekend Piri'anga Alofa Pacific and Community Services staff, Whānau Manaaki kindergarten teachers and volunteers ran another successful giveaway day at Nuanua Kindergarten in Cannons Creek Porirua.
These regular events help to support our kindergarten families that are, like many struggling in a cost-of-living crisis. Children at our kindergartens hugely benefit from a wraparound approach that supports the whole family, not just the child.
Families in the community come together for free essential household items like clothes, toys, electronics, homeware, linen and more. Donations from the community pack out the kindergarten space and children love to pick out their favorite toys, books and games from a huge selection of items.
Tū Ora Compass Health was also onsite at the event, offering free immunisations and immunisation support to the kindergarten community.
Piri'anga Alofa Pacific and Community Services run a number of events that help to keep our communities healthy with free vaccinations, dental checks and other essential health screening.
