Le Fale (the house) is a safe space where the community feel welcomed and encouraged.
The Le Fale Jobs and Skills Hub is a community-based initiative supported by Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens Association.
Le Fale aims to guide and empower people to achieve their goals around employment, financial capability and home ownership.
In 2018, the Government announced a $1.5 billion investment to work with the community on revitalising Porirua. In support of the new housing developments being built in eastern Porirua, Le Fale will work with partners Porirua Development and Te Aranga Alliance, to help connect job seekers to employment in the infrastructure and construction industry.
The two key focus areas are employment and training and home ownership
Employment and Training
The Le Fale Navigators, provide manaakitanga and advice to enable job seekers with effective tools when looking for further training and employment opportunities. They also support families on low incomes, sole parents, and school leavers.
The Le Fale Jobs and Skills Hub Navigators can help:
- Write CVs and cover letters
- Match you to job opportunities
- Help apply for jobs online
- Support you while you are in a job

Le Fale is supported by their partners Te Rūnanga O Toa Rangatira, Kāinga Ora, MBIE, MSD and Tāmaki Regeneration.
Home Ownership
Le Fale has partnered with the Ministry of Pacific Peoples to provide Financial Capability Training and Home Ownership Support workshops. These courses will allow families to find solutions that suit them, working individually with the Le Fale navigators.
The program covers:
- how home ownership works.
- government funded products like Kiwi Build, Progressive Home Ownership and Papa Kainga.
- subsidies and funding available and how to qualify.
Our navigators are here to help people realise home ownership and financial literacy is achievable and is within reach, shifting attitudes around home ownership.
