Le Fale Jobs and Skills Hub was one of the organisations behind a Porirua Careers Expo this week at the Te Rauparaha Arena in the city. Around a thousand college students attended the expo, which featured 80 stalls from employers and training organisations. All the Porirua Colleges were represented, and students also came from several Wellington secondary schools.

Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens had a stall, as did Le Fale. Tina Hunter-Mareko from the People Team says there was a steady stream of students visiting the Whānau Manaaki stall to find out about what’s involved in studying for teaching in the early childhood sector. She says many were also interested in working part-time in a kindergarten while studying.
