About us and our programme
Our kindergarten in the heart of Tawa has served the community for over 60 years. We provide a warm and welcoming environment, and we work with whānau and the community to support children’s learning.
We value the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa and we offer weekly kapa haka sessions.
We encourage whānau involvement, and invite parents to stay with their child, especially when they are settling. We celebrate cultural diversity, and our programme is focused on building social competence and promoting equity, inclusion and fun.
We nurture the mana of the child, acknowledging their individual strengths, interests, and the prior knowledge they bring to the programme.
Our large outdoor environment enables children to challenge and extend themselves physically, with quiet spaces where children can connect with nature and develop knowledge around sustainability.
We often walk around our community, and regularly visit our community garden next door. We also have close relationships with the local schools.
