About us and our programme
Our kindergarten has a wonderful outdoor space where children can notice the changes of the seasons. We are often visited by birds, including tui as our name suggests.
We love to have fun and laughter is a big part of our day.
Our door is always open for whānau to stop for a cuppa and a catch up. Parents are welcome to stay with their child, especially when they are settling. We have a warm and welcoming environment and we love to see whānau involved in our kindergarten.
Our teaching team strive to be ‘yes’ teachers which creates positive connections with children and supports their social skills. We listen to children and respect and respond to their needs.
We love to bake and cook with the children and soup and bread are often offered on cold days.
We have regular events for families to get together and have fun.
We recognise the three official languages: English, Māori and New Zealand Sign Language and include them all. We have a bi-cultural emphasis, and all cultures are celebrated and respected.
We encourage whānau to teach us about their culture and the things that are important to them.
