Kindergartens Voice Opposition to Treaty Principles Bill

Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens through our collective organisation Kindergartens Aotearoa had the chance to be heard by the Justice Select Committee on our submission on the Treaty Principles Bill last week.
Over 340,000 submissions were received by the Select Committee, and some of the organisations and individuals were invited to make oral submissions, including Kindergartens Aotearoa.
Although the Senior Leaders from three of the Associations planned to speak to the committee, technical difficulties meant that only Tara Solomon from Kaitiaki Kindergartens in North Auckland was able to connect.
Tara represented Kindergartens Aotearoa well, speaking about the place of Te Tiriti in early childhood education and how it is embedded in our everyday practice as well as our curriculum. You can view the oral submission below:
