Fanau Pasifika Kindergarten
Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 2:30pm
About us and our programme
Everyone is welcome at Fanau Pasifika, the first Pacific kindergarten in Horowhenua.
We provide learning opportunities in our aiga (family) environment, where children attend from under one to school age.
We welcome aiga and matua to be involved and we encourage them to learn alongside their fanau by staying and working with the teachers. We begin each day with lotu, a blessing for the day, and we finish our day with another lotu.
We have a weekly Falalalaga (weaving together) session led by our matua and aiga with support from our faiaoga (teachers). The topic is based around the children’s interests.
Va Feiloai ma le Faa’aa’aloalo (warm relationships and respect) is our protocol that we live by.
O le gagana Samoa, Tongan, English and Maori languages are spoken in our kindergarten. We have regular kapa haka sessions.
We celebrate special occasions in our kindergarten and families get involved in these celebrations.
All faiaoga at Fanau Pasifika are qualified teachers, and come from a mix of cultures.
