About us and our programme
We have been part of the Newlands community for 50 years. We provide a warm and welcoming environment, and our focus is on learning while having fun.
We serve a culturally diverse community, and we value and celebrate the languages and cultures of our families. We promote belonging and inclusion.
We work closely with whanau to foster children’s confidence, language development and communication. We recognise that children come to kindergarten with prior knowledge and skills and we build on their experiences.
We have close relationships with our local schools. Literacy, numeracy, music, drama, gardening and sustainability all feature strongly in our programme.
We support risk taking, problem solving and help children to develop resilience, perseverance and self-belief. Our environment supports children’s development in these areas.
We have five teachers who are all qualified and registered and an administrator who supports our teaching team.
