About us and our programme

At Timatanga Hou Kindergarten we embrace whakawhanaungatanga, family relationships, and we develop respectful, welcoming relationships with children, whānau and the wider community. This fosters the emotional wellbeing of each child.

We take children from babies through to school age, and we are open 49 weeks of the year from 8am to 4pm each day. Families choose whether to come for six- or eight-hour days, and which days to attend.

Our routine is flexible and we work to meet each child’s needs. We are inclusive, and children’s voices are valued and respected. Our children feel safe and nurtured, and they learn to build relationships, be kind and caring, develop independence, and be accepted for who they are.

We support children to be successful learners, feeling good about themselves and showing respect and empathy to others, achieving their potential.

We support and nurture whānau hopes, dreams and aspirations for each child.

We work in a fun learning environment, enjoying our large natural outdoor space.
