About us and our programme
Waiouru Kindergarten is an all-day service providing education and care for children from birth to school age. We cater for the needs of families by opening from 7.45am until 4.45pm, with both full-day and part-day sessions available.
Our 100% trained and registered teaching team has a strong focus on learning the skills and developing the attitudes children need. Teachers support children to learn and nurture their development.
Children learn to work alongside others, to problem solve and to negotiate, and they develop empathy, kindness and respect towards all people.
We sit under the korowai of Koro Ruapehu and the mountain has a strong presence in our programme.
Our whānau-based model encourages tuakana-teina relationships — where older children and younger children learn from and alongside each other.
We have a strong transition to school programme with Waiouru School.
