Around the motu, kindergartens marked the hikoi to parliament in different ways, with a range of activities to support Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
And at parliament, Whānau Manaaki was well represented, with staff from our support offices, senior leadership, teachers and other kindergarten staff taking leave to take part. Board members, including our board chair Martin Robinson, as well as many parents and whānau from our kindergartens attended with tamariki.
Our kindergartens remained open and many took the opportunity to learn about Te Tiriti, history and the role of protest action in democracy.
This is kotahitanga in action and history in the making!
