This week Whānau Manaaki held a blessing ceremony for our new Clutha-based office at Te Pou O Mata Au Clutha District War Memorial & Community Centre.
The ceremony included Kaiako, Senior Leaders from Wellington and members of the Clutha community coming together.
The blessing was led by local Waikoau Rūnanga representative, Timikuka Walker.
Kaitiaki o Kaupapa Māori Lou Fruean attended the ceremony, bringing a symbolic Te Tiriti o Waitangi taonga (treasure) to be displayed in the new office as a reminder of the association’s values.
