About us and our programme

Our kindergarten is part of the diverse and vibrant Cannons Creek community in Eastern Porirua. We welcome two, three and four year olds to attend on days that suit the family. There are no fees for children who attend for three days. Children can attend for up to five days – come and talk to us if this could suit you.

We encourage children to make choices and to follow their interests, to be motivated learners, and to be creative.

We support parents and whānau as first teachers, and we value and respect their knowledge and decisions about the care and education of their child.

Our whānau have shared how important the values of family and respect are. We support these with a strong emphasis on developing children’s social skills and ways of relating to and caring for others.

Our name comes from Maara Roa; the long garden cultivated in days gone now, by our whaea or mother. We carry on the role of caring for our maara which gives us rich learning opportunities.

Our teachers are 100% qualified and registered, and we are assisted by wonderful support staff.
