About us and our programme

As the oldest kindergarten in Porirua, in multicultural Cannons Creek, we have a strong relationship with our community.

Children flourish in our environment as it reflects and embraces their values and culture, especially Maori and Pasifika.

We provide breakfast each morning, and fruit for morning tea. We do regular baking and cooking with the children.

We value Whanaungatanga, (relationships) Manaakitanga, (kindness and hospitality) Whakapapa (family connections) and tuakana/teina (older brother/ older sister relationships and learning).

We support children’s independence and extend their thinking, empowering them to make decisions about their own learning. Children develop creativity, literacy, numeracy, music and social skills at our kindergarten.

We visit Windley School regularly and we support all children to transition to school.
